Glacier Calving

Glacier Calving
Ice rock crumbles
A roar in my ear
A chill in my spine

How does it feel when a monumental chunk of ice splits off a glacier and crashes into the sea? The sound is like thunder. The impact shoots water hundreds of feet into the air. You hold your breath as you catch the moment on film. Then you wait for it to happen again. And it does ~ Bernard

Lake Tekapo NZ

Lake Tekapo NZ
Some say the creation
Happened long ago
No, it’s happening now

Lake Tekapo is the second-largest of three roughly parallel lakes running north–south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin in the South Island of New Zealand (the others are Lake Pukaki and Lake Ohau). It covers an area of 83 square kilometres (32 sq mi), and is at an altitude of 700 metres (2,300 ft) above sea level.~ Bernard
